Grocery Clerk

The Grocery Clerk is responsible for stocking shelves, maintaining product displays, assisting customers, and ensuring the grocery department remains clean, organized, and well-stocked. This position helps provide an excellent shopping experience by delivering friendly customer service and supporting daily store operations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Customer Service

• Greet customers in a friendly and professional manner.
• Assist customers in locating products and answering questions.
• Provide prompt and courteous service to enhance the shopping experience.
• Address customer concerns and escalate issues when necessary.

Stocking and Merchandising

• Stock shelves, coolers, and displays with merchandise.
• Rotate products using the first-in, first-out (FIFO) method.
• Ensure shelves are fully stocked and products are properly faced.
• Set up promotional displays and signage as directed.

Inventory and Product Management

• Check inventory levels and notify supervisors of low-stock items.
• Receive and unload deliveries.
• Verify product quantities and inspect merchandise for damage.
• Remove expired, damaged, or recalled products from shelves.

Store Maintenance

• Keep aisles, shelves, storage areas, and workspaces clean and organized.
• Follow food safety and sanitation procedures.
• Maintain a safe shopping and working environment.
• Assist with store cleanup and recovery activities.

Team Support

• Work collaboratively with other team members and departments.
• Follow company policies, procedures, and safety standards.
• Assist with special projects and other duties as assigned.

QualificationsJob Qualifications

• Education: High school degree or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
• Experience: Grocery experience preferred.
• Knowledge: Knowledge of basic aspects in the grocery industry.
• Other: Individual must have reliable transportation to arrive at work on time.
