About The Role

DescriptionMechanical Assembly Coordinator Lead from the Floor, Build Something Real

Location: Indianapolis, IN

Pay: Competitive pay with full benefits

If you’re an experienced mechanical assembler or machine builder who’s ready to take the lead, this could be a strong next step.

We’re looking for a Mechanical Assembly Coordinator to lead our Indianapolis assembly team while staying hands-on with the work. You’ll help organize the day, support and develop the team, solve mechanical problems, and keep custom industrial bakery equipment moving from parts and drawings to a fully assembled, working machine.

This is not a desk-only supervisor role. We want someone who is comfortable leading people, reading prints, troubleshooting equipment, and jumping in when the team needs help.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Lead and support a team of mechanical assemblers
  • Set daily priorities and help keep builds on schedule
  • Assemble, fit, align, adjust, and troubleshoot industrial machinery
  • Read and work from engineering drawings, assembly prints, and bills of materials
  • Help resolve fit, tolerance, alignment, and mechanical-function issues
  • Work closely with Engineering and Manufacturing to keep projects moving
  • Support machine testing, start-up, and debugging
  • Coach team members and help develop their skills
  • Keep a strong focus on safety, quality, productivity, and workmanship

QualificationsWhat We’re Looking For

  • 5–7 years of industrial mechanical assembly or machine-building experience
  • Experience working on custom machinery, industrial equipment, conveyors, or capital equipment
  • Previous lead, Coordinator, or supervisory experience
  • Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering and assembly drawings
  • Experience with components such as bearings, shafts, gearboxes, belts, chains, drives, motors, and conveyors
  • Comfortable using precision measuring tools, hand tools, and power tools
  • Someone who is organized, dependable, and comfortable making decisions on the production floor
  • Willingness to work hands-on alongside the team
  • Must possess or be willing to obtain forklift certification
  • Why Join Us?
  • Competitive pay and comprehensive benefits
  • Stable work with a growing company
  • A well-equipped manufacturing facility
  • Hands-on leadership where your experience matters
  • Opportunity to help build complex equipment from the ground up
  • Room to grow both technically and as a leader
  • If you know how to build machinery, solve problems, and lead a team, we’d like to talk with you. Apply today.
