About The Role
Mountain Veterinary Hospital is seeking an experienced Veterinary Assistant to join our team and help create exceptional experiences for clients and patients during exams and outpatient visits.
We are seeking an outgoing veterinary assistant who thrives in client engagement, schedule coordination, and multitasking. In this position, you will play a critical role in supporting efficient hospital operations, creating positive client experiences, and ensuring patients receive compassionate, high-quality care. Success in this role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, a proactive mindset, and the ability to anticipate the needs of both the veterinary team and clients throughout the patient visit.
Responsibilities include
- Maintaining accurate, thorough medical records and treatment documentation
- Supporting veterinarians during outpatient procedures and treatments while providing high-quality patient care
- Building positive relationships with clients through education, communication, and attentive service
Schedule and compensation
- Compensation: $19.50-20.50 per hour, for each hour worked
- This is a full-time position, with a flexible schedule and availability needed Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. Saturday shifts are 8am-2pm.

Minimum qualifications and skill set
1+ years of experience in a veterinary assistant, animal care, kennel assistant, or related role preferred
Proficiency in the following skills
- Safe animal handling and restraint skills for dogs and cats of varying sizes and temperaments
- Knowledge of basic veterinary terminology and patient care principles
- Ability to assist with exams, treatments, and outpatient procedures
- Experience collecting patient histories and obtaining patient weights and vital signs preferred
- Compassionate, professional communication with clients and team members
- Dependable attendance and strong work ethic
- Physical ability to stand, bend, lift, and restrain patients safely throughout the workday
- Commitment to exceptional patient care and client service
About us
Mountain Veterinary Hospital is a four-doctor, full-service, small animal practice providing conventional medical and surgical treatment for dogs and cats as well as physical therapy, rehabilitation, and alternative medicine. Alternative medicine includes acupuncture, stem cell/platelet rich plasma therapy, and Chinese herbal medicine.
