Accountant

Job Summary

The Accountant will be responsible for managing the company’s day-to-day financial operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and maintaining compliance with tax and statutory regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records.
• Handle accounts payable and receivable.
• Prepare financial statements, reconciliations, and reports.
• Manage payroll and statutory deductions (e.g., PAYE, NSSF, NHIF, etc.).
• File tax returns and ensure full compliance with local laws.
• Assist in budget preparation and forecasting.
• Coordinate with external auditors during audits.
• Maintain the general ledger and ensure all transactions are recorded properly.
• Monitor cash flow and manage bank transactions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• CPA/ACCA qualification (or in progress) is an added advantage.
• 2+ years of experience in a similar role.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Tally, or Sage).
• Solid understanding of Tanzanian tax laws and compliance.
• High attention to detail and integrity.
