Job Title: Soaring Eagle Center (SEC) Lead Monitor

Department: St. Labre Indian Catholic School

Reports To: Activities Director

  • FLSA Status: Nonexempt – Regular part-time 12 month position
  • Job Code: 4B ($13.44 -$15.47 -$17.49)/hr.

SUMMARY

Assists Aquatic Technician in maintenance, first aid, CPR, safety, life guarding and supervision of Soaring Eagle Center by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. *Indicates the non-essential duties and responsibilities. Nothing in this job description restricts St. Labre's right to assign or reassign duties and responsibilities to this job at any time.

Cautions all patrons regarding safety.

Provides first aide to any center patrons.

Maintains order in the center by enforcing all center rules.

Inspects center for safety and cleanliness.

Completes all paperwork, which includes: injury, illness, and accident.

Assists Aquatic Technician and Physical Education with class supervision.

Works directly with center lifeguards.

Assists Aquatic Technician in recording and balancing of chemicals in the pool.

Completes on the job training relating to the Pool Link Computer System.

Cleans and sanitizes all areas of the pool area.

Monitors all areas within the Soaring Eagle Center.

Maintains good public relations with all facility users.

Completes pool laundry and other assigned jobs.

Turns off all lights and lock all doors of the center.

Assists with security during games at center.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This job requires minimal supervisory responsibilities. However, the Lead SEC staff must work directly with lifeguards when Aquatic Technician is not present.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and one to three months related experience and/or training preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, staff, and the general public.
  • Respects the teachings of the gospel of Jesus Christ in private, personal, and public life.
  • Commitment to the mission of the Roman Catholic Church in Native American education.
  • Sensitivity to, and appreciation of Native American people and their cultures.
  • Ability to serve as an appropriate role model for students.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

  • Red Cross CPR certification required.
  • Red Cross Lifeguard certification required.
  • Red Cross First Aid certification required.
  • St. Labre instructs and holds classes for Red Cross certifications.
