Read on.We're looking for a Manager, Cyber security Engineering, to join our Cloud and Platform Security team. In this role, you'll sit at the intersection of security, cloud infrastructure, and data - translating complex, ambiguous business and security challenges into scalable, well-architected data solutions. You'll be a force multiplier for the team: setting technical direction, managing engineers, and partnering closely with security, product, and platform stakeholders to ensure our data systems are secure, reliable, and built for scale.This is not just a hands-on engineering role - it requires someone who can think strategically, communicate across disciplines, and turn business intent into technical reality. A core part of this mission is using data to deliver curated, actionable security guidance and intelligent prioritization directly to application teams, empowering them to make better and more impactful security decisions faster.What you’ll do in the role:Technical LeadershipDefine and drive the technical strategy and roadmap for security engineering within the Cloud and Platform Security domainArchitect end-to-end data pipelines and platforms that support security telemetry, compliance reporting, and risk analyticsEstablish engineering standards, best practices, and patterns for data ingestion, transformation, storage, and access controlOwn key technical decisions and trade-offs, and communicate them clearly to both engineering and non-technical stakeholdersProblem Synthesis & Solution DesignPartner with security, engineering, product, and compliance teams to deeply understand complex business and security problemsBreak down ambiguous, multi-faceted challenges and translate them into actionable, well-scoped technical solutionsDrive discovery and requirements processes - asking the right questions to surface the real problem before jumping to solutionsExecution & DeliveryLead and actively contribute to the design, development, and delivery of scalable data infrastructure on cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, and/or Azure) Build platforms that handle high-volume security event data (logs, alerts, audit trails, telemetry) with reliability and low latencyEnsure data quality, observability, and governance are first-class concerns across all systemsPeople & CollaborationMentor and grow a team of engineers - through code reviews, design discussions, and ongoing technical coaching.Foster a culture of engineering excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement.Act as a trusted technical advisor to cross-functional partners, representing the team in architectural reviews and strategic planning discussions.What you’ll bring to the role:Experience in software engineering, with at least 2 years in a tech lead or people manager roleProven ability to take complex, ambiguous business problems and synthesize them into clear, elegant at-scale technical solutionsDemonstrated experience building data products that deliver actionable insights or guidance to end users - not just pipelines for pipelines' sakeDeep experience building and operating large-scale platforms in cloud environments (AWS, GCP, or Azure)At least 7 years' relevant experience would generally be expected to find the skills required for this role.Preferred:Experience building developer-facing security tooling or platforms that guide application teams toward better security outcomesFamiliarity with vulnerability management data (CVEs, CVSS, EPSS) and how to apply it in prioritization modelsExperience in a security domain i.e Cloud Security, Platform Security, AppSec, or Trust & Safety engineering environmentHands-on experience with cloud-native servicesHand-on experience with data engineering at scaleBackground working in regulated industries or with compliance-driven data requirementsWHAT YOU CAN EXPECT FROM MORGAN STANLEY: At Morgan Stanley, we raise, manage and allocate capital for our clients – helping them reach their goals.
