Medical Assistant - per diem - 8 hour - Day Shift

Salary Range: $36.42 - $41.40 plus applicable per diem differential

Position Summary

Under the direction and supervision of an MD, RN, or Sr. Office Manager, assumes responsibility and accountability for assignments for a designated time frame, assisting staff in providing patient care according to established methods/policies/standards of IJJR Clinic. In addition to performing the essential functions of the job, may also be assigned other duties as required.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent work experience, including ability to read, write and comprehend medical terminology and English. Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Completion of a Medical Assistant Certification.,
• Emotional stamina to work in a stressful environment and relate to patients, hospital staff, and visitors.
• Current CPR Certification.
• Typing speed 30wpm. Minimum 2-3 years experience with Windows operating system and Windows based programs required. Internet skills desired.
• Must include
• 2 year
• minimum on the job recent experience necessary; specifically, knowledge in Orthopedic Surgery office.
• able to exercise appropriate decision making in determining follow up actions, work effectively under changing work assignments.
• Familiar with EMR (prefer EPIC and Centricity).
