Hatchery Mechanic

• Hatchery maintenance mechanics
• are responsible for keeping all hatchery equipment running and the preventative maintenance
• done on all equipment. Equipment list is as

follows

Separator

Tray

Washer

Macerator

Vacuum system

Hatchers

Setters

A/C units

Heaters

Chick counters

Evaporative Coolers

Intelliject

machines

Unstop Drains

Replace light fixtures

Recam

setters

Generators

Chiller

• Replace wheels on farm racks and hatcher dollies
• Fix anything that needs repair

Requirements

Must

• be dependable.
• Must be able to bend, squat
• and lift approximately 50 lbs.
• The job requires some overhead lifting of about 20
• lbs
• when working in setters.
• Must be able to work in temperature up to

100

• degrees in setters; however, there are
• overhead fans in the setters circulating the air.
• Must be able to climb a ladder at times carrying about 15
• lbs

• (weight of a 1/15 HP motor with blower wheel attached).
• Must have electrical knowledge and able to work with electricity such as wiring, motors,
• light fixtures, running conduit, replacing motors and

• electronic control boards.

and make repairs as needed.
