Position Overview

The

Driver

Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing a team of drivers

, ensuring efficient operations, safety, compliance, and driver satisfaction. This role involves coordinating schedules, resolving issues, and maintaining compliance with company policies and industry regulations. The

Driver

Manager will also manage all driver-related job functions, including vacation and home time scheduling, employee relations, claims and truck maintenance coordination.

Key Responsibilities

Driver Oversight

Supervise and support drivers in day-to-day operations.

M

anage driver-related functions, including vacation and home time scheduling, employee relations, and claims handling.

Operations Management

Coordinate the utilization of

JBS

  • trucks in relation to the daily schedule.
  • Ensure efficient and timely delivery operations.
  • Monitor driver performance and compliance with company policies.
  • Address operational issues, such as breakdowns and delays, promptly.

Safety and Compliance

  • Oversee driver adherence to safety protocols and Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
  • Facilitate regular coaching and safety training sessions.
  • Keep JBS trucks loaded within legal weight standards

Preventative Maintenance Coordination

  • Work closely with the maintenance department to ensure timely completion of preventative maintenance and truck repairs.
  • Communicate vehicle issues reported by drivers and follow up on repairs.

Scheduling and Route Planning

  • Create and adjust driver schedules to maximize efficiency and minimize costs.
  • Ensure timely delivery of goods while adhering to legal regulations and safety standards.

Driver Support

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for driver concerns, addressing and resolving issues promptly.
  • Foster strong relationships with drivers to enhance job satisfaction and performance.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree or higher
  • in transportation,
  • logistics, or a related field is preferred.
  • 2+ years in transportation or logistics management preferred.
  • Previous experience managing drivers or logistics operations is highly preferred.

Skills

  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in logistics software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Knowledge of DOT regulations.

The applicant who fills this position will be eligible for the following compensation and benefits

Benefits: Vision, Medical, and Dental coverage begin after 60 days of employment.

Base salary range of

$57,784

This position is eligible to participate in the Company’s annual bonus plan, the amount of bonus varies and is subject to the standard terms and conditions of the incentive program.
