About The Role

Job Title: Vessel IT System Engineer Experience: 3–10 Years Location: Powai, Mumbai (Work from Office) Job Summary We are seeking a highly motivated and technically skilled Vessel IT Engineer to support and deliver IT infrastructure services across our global fleet of vessels. This role involves providing hands-on technical expertise in an outsourced environment, ensuring reliable deployment, maintenance, and support of vessel-based IT systems. The ideal candidate will possess strong knowledge of IT infrastructure technologies, including servers, storage, backup solutions, networking, power/UPS systems, and end-user computing. While expertise in one of these areas is preferred, a broad understanding of the others and their interdependencies is essential. This is a practical, hands-on role requiring end-to-end delivery of infrastructure solutions, including equipment installation, racking, cabling, configuration, testing, and deployment. The position may require occasional travel to vessels as part of project implementation and support activities. Flexibility to travel on short notice is therefore important. Key Responsibilities Build, configure, and deploy IT infrastructure solutions in accordance with defined technical design specifications. Deliver technical project implementations in collaboration with the Fleet IT Team Manager and Project Managers. Perform installation, racking, cabling, configuration, and commissioning of IT equipment. Provide proactive problem management and technical troubleshooting for vessel IT services, working closely with support teams to minimize service disruptions. Support and maintain vessel IT environments, including servers, storage, backup systems, networks, power/UPS infrastructure, and end-user devices. Contribute to the design and enhancement of Fleet IT solutions by working closely with Architecture and Engineering teams to define and implement technology standards. Prepare and maintain standardized technical documentation, implementation plans, and operational procedures. Gather, analyze, and define project requirements in collaboration with clients, stakeholders, and business teams. Ensure successful project delivery through effective planning, execution, and stakeholder coordination. Stay updated with emerging technologies, industry best practices, and relevant standards to continuously improve vessel IT services. Required Qualifications & Experience Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience. 3–10 years of experience in IT infrastructure engineering and support. Strong knowledge of: Servers and virtualization platforms Storage and backup solutions Network infrastructure and communications Cloud technologies and architectures Desktop and endpoint management Power and UPS systems Understanding of IT operational risk management, project delivery methodologies, and service management frameworks. Familiarity with industry standards and best practices such as ITIL and ISO frameworks. Ability to troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues and work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Excellent communication, documentation, and stakeholder management skills. Preferred Certifications CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate) MCSA (Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate)
