About The Role

Key Responsibilities Hull Repair & Structural Work Inspect vessel hull structures and identify repair requirements. Prepare damaged repair plans and methodologies for steel renewal, plate replacement, and structural reinforcement. Should be able to review thickness measurements and corrosion reports. Supervise or support execution of hull repair activities in dry dock or afloat. Able to review welding procedures and quality standards. Piping Design Develop detailed piping layouts, isometrics, and 3D models using CAD software. Perform pipe routing considering space constraints, stress, and maintainability. Prepare material take-offs (MTO), bill of materials (BOM), and specifications. Coordinate with structural, mechanical, and electrical teams for integrated design. Ensure compliance with class standards (ABS, DNV, Lloyd’s Register, etc.). Project & Execution Support Provide technical support during fabrication, installation, and repair. Liaise with shipyards, vendors, and classification societies. Prepare technical documentation, drawings, and reports. Monitor project progress and resolve on-site engineering issues. Compliance & Safety Promote safe work practices during repair and installation activities. Ensure prepared designs and repair plans comply with classification society rules, international marine standards and safety regulations. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Naval Architecture Engineering/ Mechanical Engineering/ Marine Engineering 2–3 years of relevant experience in shipbuilding, ship repair, or oil and gas and offshore industry Technical Skills Proficiency in CAD tools (AutoCAD, AVEVA Marine, SmartPlant, etc.), RHINO, Microsoft Office, Adobe PDF writer. Knowledge of piping codes and standards (ASME, ANSI) Familiarity with classification rules (ABS, DNV, Lloyd’s Register) Understanding of welding, fabrication, and marine materials Soft Skills Strong problem-solving and analytical skills Good communication and coordination abilities Ability to work under tight deadlines and on site conditions Preferred Skills (Optional) Experience with 3D modeling and stress analysis tools Exposure to dry dock operations and ship repair planning Knowledge of corrosion protection systems and coatings Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) Timely completion of design deliverables Quality and accuracy of drawings and repair plans Compliance with safety and regulatory standards Cost and schedule adherence for repair projects
