About The Role

  • Manage multiple construction or engineering contracts from commencement to completion.
  • Review, negotiate, and administer contracts with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers.
  • Plan, coordinate, and monitor project progress to ensure contractual obligations are met.
  • Oversee project budgets, cost control, forecasting, and financial performance.
  • Ensure projects are delivered in accordance with specifications, quality standards, and programme requirements.
  • Liaise with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and site management teams to resolve contractual and operational issues.
  • Identify project risks and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Monitor variations, claims, extensions of time, and contract compliance.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety legislation, company policies, and environmental standards.
  • Prepare and present progress reports, commercial updates, and project reviews to senior management.
  • Support procurement activities, including subcontractor selection and supplier management.
  • Lead and mentor project managers, engineers, and site teams to achieve project objectives.
  • Foster strong client relationships and contribute to business development opportunities.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Contracts Manager within the construction, civil engineering, or mechanical/electrical contracting industry.
  • Strong knowledge of construction contracts, project management principles, and commercial practices.
  • Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent understanding of contract administration, budgeting, cost control, and risk management.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contract documentation.
  • Strong leadership, organisational, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and project management software.
  • Fluent in spoken and written English.
  • Full, valid driving licence.
