About The Role

Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Service Electrician to join our team. The Service Electrician will be responsible for the maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair. This role requires a strong understanding of electrical systems, excellent problem-solving skills, and a commitment to ensuring the optimal performance of solar installations. The ideal candidate will be safety-conscious, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently as well as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct routine maintenance inspections and prep work for solar PV systems to ensure optimal performance and identify potential issues.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical problems in solar installations, including issues with wiring, inverters, and other components.
  • Perform repairs and replacements of faulty equipment or components as needed, following safety protocols and industry best practices.
  • Test and commission newly installed solar PV systems to verify functionality and compliance with specifications.
  • Document all maintenance, repair, and installation activities accurately and thoroughly, including recording system performance data and any recommendations for improvements.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to other team members, including apprentices and junior technicians.
  • Stay current with industry developments, regulations, and best practices related to solar PV systems and electrical installations.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience working as an electrician, with specific experience in solar PV systems preferred.
  • Valid electrician's license or certification in [state/province/country].
  • Strong understanding of electrical theory and principles, including knowledge of AC and DC circuits.
  • Familiarity with relevant codes, regulations, and standards pertaining to solar PV installations, such as NEC, UL, and local building codes.
  • Proficiency in using electrical testing equipment and diagnostic tools.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently to troubleshoot issues.
  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact professionally with clients and colleagues.
  • Commitment to safety and adherence to safety protocols at all times.
  • Physical fitness and ability to work at heights and in various weather conditions.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
