Electrical Test Engineer

Electrical Test Engineer Job Description: The Electrical Test Engineer is responsible for designing, maintaining, and optimizing electrical testing processes (including ICT, FCT, and RF testing) in a high-volume manufacturing environment. This role drives yield improvement, performs advanced troubleshooting on hardware and software test systems, and ensures strict adherence to worldwide quality and manufacturing standards (ISO 9001 / IATF 16949). The engineer will also lead root-cause analysis investigations and mentor test technicians. Specific Responsibilities: Test Process Optimization: Monitor and optimize In-Circuit Test (ICT) and Functional Test (FCT) processes to ensure high efficiency, reliability, and coverage. Yield Quality Improvement: Analyze daily/weekly test yield data (using SPC, Cp/Cpk, and Pareto charts) to identify defect trends, drive corrective actions, and continuously improve first-pass yield (FPY). Advanced Troubleshooting: Perform component-level hardware and software troubleshooting on test systems, fixtures, and failed assemblies to minimize production downtime. Standard Compliance: Ensure test systems and processes comply with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and/or IATF 16949 standards. Conduct Gage R R studies and maintain calibration standards. Root Cause Analysis: Lead investigations into major test failures and customer returns using structured methodologies (8D, Fishbone, 5 Whys), collaborating with Quality and Production teams to implement CAPA. Documentation: Author and maintain test specifications, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), fixture schematics, preventive maintenance schedules, and calibration guidelines. Team Guidance Training: Provide technical leadership, guidance, and training to test technicians on debugging techniques, rework standards, and ESD-safe handling procedures.
