We are seeking a detail-oriented Quality Control Manager who will be a system architect/designer with a focus on building an AI-powered QC infrastructure
Responsibilities
- Co-create an AI-powered QC infrastructure by designing reusable QC frameworks and systematic checklists/inspection templates (not ad hoc one-offs)
- Manage relationships with existing and future third-party partners (e.g., inspection providers, labs, factories) to ensure consistent QC execution and continuous improvement
Run QC operations using the designed frameworks, including
- Verify product specifications, quantities, and compliance with order requirements (including handling exceptions/special cases within the framework)
- Perform functional testing and visual inspections of products
- Document and report quality issues, defects, and inspection outcomes
- Review packaging and labeling requirements for compliance
- Review inspection/product reports and make accept/reject decisions
- Classify defects by severity (critical / major / minor)
- Coordinate with production/suppliers/partners on quality improvements and corrective actions
- Maintain detailed inspection records and QC documentation.
Requirements
Systems design/architecture mindset: able to design QC infrastructure end-to-end (processes, data flows, tooling, partner setup), not just execute tasks
Ability to create reusable, systematic solutions (frameworks, checklists, templates, playbooks) rather than ad hoc responses
Experience across a broad range of products and a strong understanding of overseas customers and compliance requirements
Strong analytical skills and ability to work closely with the Product team on metrics, prioritization, and root-cause analysis
Technical background and ability to work effectively with AI systems in an operational context
Strong communication and stakeholder management: able to work independently, proactive, and effective at managing relationships with both partners and internal colleagues
8+ years of quality control experience, preferably with hardline products
We offer
Compensation package: base salary and performance-based bonuses (total target compensation is reflected in the job description)
Office-first: flexible hours with a possibility to work remotely 52 days per year, and 15 days of paid annual leave
Care & Wellbeing: health insurance, including annual health check-up, daily meal allowance, and 100% paid sick leave
Team & Growth: collaboration with colleagues across Portugal, Brazil, Latvia, and China, with opportunities for promotions, professional trainings, and English courses
Community & Engagement: annual team building activities, knowledge-sharing workshops, and a strong sense of teamwork
