About The Role
Senior Correctional Officer – Talent Pool Creation Employment Type: Future ongoing and temporary opportunities to be filled via Talent Pool creation Locations : St Heliers, Tamworth and Glen Innes Correctional Centre (CC) Salary: $97,285 per annum plus allowance, employer’s contribution to superannuation, and annual leave loading Your role Senior Correctional Officers play an important role in maintaining the safety and wellbeing of staff and inmates. You will oversee the daily activities of all Correctional Officers within a designated area and significantly contribute to the provision of dynamic and static security in the containment and oversight of inmate / offender activities. What we’re looking for Ability to always maintain confidentiality. Leverage your experience in custodial or similar operational environments to efficiently and effectively meet the challenges and requirements of this role. Always represent the Department in an honest, ethical, and professional way and lead by example. Resilient, motivated with a positive attitude and confidence will be a benefit to this role. Essential requirements Current Certificate III in Correctional Practice or appropriate and relevant custodial experience. Be able to drive official vehicles and possess an appropriate level of Driver’s License to meet all job requirements (if required). Preparedness to undertake shift work on a rotating roster as required Maintain proficiency in authorised instruments of restraint. Satisfactory completion of a mandatory medical assessment if required. Understanding of, or the capacity to rapidly acquire and apply knowledge of, reception and discharge procedures, warrants and bail processes.
