Come join in on our purpose – We put people to work, we protect American freedoms, and we help our customers power and improve the world! <https://aollc.biz> Job Summary Responsible for the overall leadership, strategic direction, operational performance, financial success, and long-term growth of American Ordnance, a Government-Owned, Contractor-Operated (GOCO) ammunition manufacturing operation supporting the U.S. Department of Defense. This position is accountable for maintaining a world-class safety culture, delivering operational excellence, ensuring contract compliance, driving continuous improvement, and achieving financial and strategic objectives while developing a high-performing leadership team. Maintains full Profit and Loss (P&L) responsibility for American Ordnance and serves as the primary executive representative with Day & Zimmermann leadership, U.S. Government customers, regulatory agencies, labor organizations, and community stakeholders. Responsibilities Provide enterprise leadership for American Ordnance, establishing the strategic direction and operating model to achieve world-class performance across manufacturing, engineering, quality, safety, environmental, supply chain, maintenance, and program management. Drive operational excellence, Lean transformation, innovation, and execution of complex government manufacturing programs that meet customer, contractual, and mission requirements. Develop and execute the long-term business strategy for American Ordnance, aligning organizational priorities with Day & Zimmermann's growth objectives, customer needs, and defense modernization initiatives. Lead organizational transformation, business planning, risk management, and enterprise decision-making to ensure sustainable growth and mission success. Maintain full P&L accountability, optimizing financial performance through strategic planning, capital allocation, business forecasting, operational efficiencies, and disciplined resource management. Drive profitable growth while ensuring responsible stewardship of Company and Government assets. Serve as the senior executive representative to the U.S. Army, Department of Defense, prime contractors, regulatory agencies, and Day & Zimmermann leadership. Strengthen strategic customer partnerships, influence future business opportunities, and support business development, capture, and long-term contract growth. Build a high-performing leadership team and culture of accountability by driving talent strategy, succession planning, organizational capability, workforce engagement, and leadership development. Champion modernization, digital KSAs (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities) Leadership skills: Executive leadership of complex manufacturing organizations, Strategic planning and execution, Organizational transformation, Executive decision making. Financial and business acumen: Profit & Loss Management, Financial Planning, Business Strategy, Capital Planning, Risk Management, Government Contract Management. Operations management: Lean Manufacturing, Operational Excellence, Continuous Improvement, Manufacturing Systems, Engineering Management, Supply Chain Management, Asset Management. Contracts and risk management: Government contracting, Department of Defense customer engagement, Program Management, Executive communications, Regulatory compliance. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related discipline. Minimum of 15 years of progressive manufacturing leadership experience, including responsibility for leading large, complex manufacturing organizations. Executive leadership experience with full operational accountability, including profit and loss responsibility. Experience supporting U.S. Government contracts, with extensive knowledge of ammunition products and manufacturing operations. Preferred Qualifications Master’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field. Demonstrated success improving operational performance, organizational effectiveness, and workplace culture. Experience in GOCO manufacturing environments and/or defense manufacturing. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location. (The specific programs and options available to an employee may vary depending on date of hire, schedule type, and the applicability of collective bargaining agreements).
