The Business Unit can look back on almost fifty years of production and development expertise. Your new responsibilities Independently drive and further develop implementation of the Compliance Mangement System in Malaysia, as well as the APAC region, including management of relevant internal as well as external stakeholders and effective implementation of governance requirements, proactive identification of compliance risks and opportunities in the region, and leading initiatives that strengthen a culture of integrity and accountability. Lead compliance investigations in the APAC region, handle whistleblower reports, and coordinate cross-functional implementation of respective meassures, including steering a network of external counsels and coordination with governmental authorities. Independently identify emerging risks, define mitigation and business continuity strategies and drive implementation together with process owners and management, including continuously monitor legal developments relevant to the corporate governance function, analyze their impact, and integrate applicable requirements. Providing regulatory legal support for ad-hoc projects, including functional leadership of regional corporate governance personnel in project-based assignments, and management as well as coordination of external law firms across multiple jurisdictions. Indepentendly provide legal advise on regulatory and governmental matters (e.g. export control, anti-corruption, antitrust law, combating money laundering and data protection). Serve as primary compliance partner for assigned units, functions and management teams regarding compliance and corporate governance matters; working closely with local Management at Penang, Kulim, Singapore, as well as Wuxi factory locations, assisting in analysis on various legal matters and providing legal advice on relevant legal provisions to key local stakeholders (as applicable). Conduct comprehensive compliance risk assessments and monitor the implementation of corrective actions to address identified findings. Develop and execute risk-based training and communication strategies tailored to different stakeholder groups and business functions. Independently coordinate other corporate governance related tasks, e.g. customer or internal audits, EHS and other regulatory matters. What we look for Completed degree in law (preferred), business administration or a comparable degree The position should be filled by a person with strong professional experience in the field of legal, compliance and/or other regulatory fields, ideally gained in an international company, law firm or an auditing firm. The candidate should have a strong legal background and the proven ability to independently manage complex cross-functional projects and stakeholder environments. Knowledge of (international) criminal and civil law required; knowledge of international export control and sanctions law as well as other regulatory fields is an advantage; experience with governmental proceedings is an advantage Very good general process understanding, excellent business understanding with a feel for regulatory risks Very good MS Office knowledge; knowledge of further IT tools (e.g SAP, Power BI) is an advantage Excellent stakeholder management, influencing and negotiation skills. Ability to build trust and operate effectively in complex international matrix organizations. Strong capability to engage and challenge management constructively.
