About The Role

Develops, modifies, applies and maintains quality evaluation and control systems. Collaborates with engineering and manufacturing functions to ensure quality standards are in place. Devises and implements methods and procedures for inspecting, testing and evaluating the precision and accuracy of products and production equipment.

JOB RESPONSIBLITIES

Designs and analyzes inspection and testing processes, mechanisms and equipment; conducts quality assurance tests; and performs statistical analysis to assess the cost of and determine the responsibility for, products or materials that do not meet required standards and specifications.

Audits quality systems for deficiency identification and correction.

Ensures that corrective measures meet acceptable reliability standards and that documentation is compliant with requirements.

May specialize in the areas of design, incoming material, production control, product evaluation and reliability, inventory control and/or research and development as they apply to product or process quality.

Plan, direct, and coordinate all quality Engineering functions for assigned product lines.

Detail Oriented - Ability to pay attention to the minute details of a project or task.

Problem Solving - Ability to find a solution for or to deal pro-actively with work-related problems.

Direct and coordinate the overall quality specifications and standards for materials, processes, and finished products to meet customer purchase order requirements

Customer Corrective Action Requests investigation, response and closure including trending of defect data and implementation of corrective action

Support regulatory and quality management system compliance and optimization of quality systems procedures relating to product complaint handling, adverse event reporting and product field actions through development, maintenance and improvement of documented processes

Develop and implement quality metrics to drive manufacturing improvements and business results

Plan and supervise studies aimed at improving product quality and reliability

Contact customers and suppliers when necessary to confer on specific quality issues

Assist other departments as necessary in improving processes, and solving quality issues.

Ensure a means of collecting and distributing compiled information in order to improve quality

Responsible for the administration of the quality system, including implementation and maintenance to regulatory requirements and standards such as applicable AS/ISO standards

Ensure safe practices are used in compliance with all governmental regulations

Identify, drive, mentor, and implement projects that improve overall production quality.

Conduct training to quality processes as needed

Responsible for the Quality of all in-house manufactured products

Drive Lean effort within manufacturing focusing on Quality

Prepares, compiles, and maintains all controlled documentation required for regulatory and policy compliance.

Manages foreign country required documentation process and review.

Leads the delivery Documentation process for the customer resolution/completion of delivery issues/obligations.

Confers with department supervisors and other personnel to assess progress and discuss needed changes.

ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Education

BS or Equivalent on-the-job-experience

Experience

  • Consultant Level Individual Contributor on a functional group.
  • Generally 5-10 years of experience in a specialized functional discipline.
  • Previous DMIR experience a must
  • 14 CFR Part 21 knowledge dealing with documents in an engineering or manufacturing environment to present to the FAA

Embraer Aircraft Documentation Delivery

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Proficient in Excel, and Microsoft Word, PowerPoint.
  • SAP experience a plus
  • Ability to understand work and procedures, acting in problem solving, suggesting improvements.
  • Extensive knowledge of aircraft preferred. (A&P preferred)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, and strong phone etiquette.
  • Ability to work in a safe professional manner adhering to all regulatory requirements including, OSHA, EPA, State and Federal regulations.
