OSP Technician

Job Description: Create detailed technical drawings, route maps, and design packages for OSP telecommunications infrastructure including fiber optic cable routes, conduit systems, pole placements, and splice schematics​ Translate field notes, sketches, and survey data into accurate CAD and GIS deliverables using AutoCAD, MicroStation, and ArcGIS platforms​ Draft permit drawings, traffic control plans, base maps, and as-built documentation for submission to municipalities, state DOTs, and other permitting authorities​ Develop splice schematics, fiber assignment diagrams, and conduit/cable design drawings for aerial, buried, and underground OSP environments​ Update and maintain plant maps, GIS databases, and engineering records to reflect current network conditions and post-construction changes​ Coordinate with OSP Engineers and Project managers to ensure drawings accurately reflect design intent and support constructability in the field​ Support permitting efforts by preparing ROW, encroachment, railroad, and traffic control plan packages per jurisdiction requirements​ Review drawings for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with company and client standards prior to QC submission​ Qualifications: Must have at least 1-2 years of experience in OSP drafting and as a technician. Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or MicroStation is required. Must have an a ssociate degree or technical certification in Drafting, Engineering Technology, or related field. Must have strong attention to detail; able to work in a fast-paced environment​
