About The Role
Position Overview Our client is a fast-growing oilfield technology company. They build proprietary proppant coating and friction reduction systems that run on live hydraulic fracturing sites and directly improve an operator's cost per lateral foot and well performance. As adoption spreads across more basins, the company needs someone who can turn strong technology into flawless execution, day after day, deployment after deployment. That's where you come in. As Chief Operating Officer, you'll take full ownership of field operations from the CEO. You'll build the systems, teams, and discipline needed to run a reliable, multi-fleet, multi-basin operation. You'll report directly to the CEO and work closely with Accounting and HR. This isn't a desk job. You'll solve problems in real time, in the field, often under pressure. If you want to build an operation from the ground up and be judged on uptime, reliability, and results, this role gives you the room to do it. Key Responsibilities Operational Excellence & Uptime Own the operational performance and reliability of every system deployed in the field Build a culture where uptime, safety, and preventative maintenance are non-negotiable Develop and roll out preventative and predictive maintenance programs Push continuous improvement in efficiency, reliability, safety, and profitability Make sure issues get identified, escalated, and resolved fast Scaling & Deployment Build operational systems that support multiple simultaneous fleet deployments Standardize deployment readiness and execution protocols across teams Improve fleet utilization without sacrificing reliability Cut variability across basins, teams, and deployments Leadership & Team Development Recruit, develop, and lead operations, maintenance, logistics, and field leadership teams Build a culture of accountability, ownership, urgency, and teamwork Set clear roles, responsibilities, and performance expectations Build leadership bench strength and succession plans EOS Leadership & Execution Drive EOS principles across the company Run the operational cadence: Rocks, Scorecards, and Level 10 Meetings Keep priorities, metrics, and accountability clear across the organization Customer & Commercial Execution Deliver consistent, high-quality field execution on every customer project Build strong relationships with operators and service partners Align operational performance with commercial growth goals Safety, Compliance & Quality Champion a world-class safety culture across every operation Keep the company compliant with all regulatory, environmental, and internal standards Maintain operational discipline, procedural consistency, and quality assurance Qualifications Experience 10+ years of operational leadership experience in oilfield services, completions, pressure pumping, or a related field-based industry Oilfield experience is strongly preferred, but candidates from adjacent backgrounds, including former military leaders with operations and logistics experience, will also be considered A track record of leading multi-location field operations and equipment-based teams Proven success improving uptime, reliability, and execution consistency Technical Knowledge Strong understanding of maintenance systems, logistics, and operational scaling Familiarity with EOS or a similar operational system is a plus Leadership & Communication Experience building and developing high-performing teams Strong communication, decision-making, and organizational skills A high ownership mindset Willingness to travel as required Work Environment You'll spend your time in active hydraulic fracturing environments: high equipment utilization, rapid deployment cycles, and multiple field locations running at once. Expect to solve problems in real time, under pressure, out in the field rather than behind a desk.
