About The Role

Tesla's In-Vehicle Infotainment electrical team designs the multi-media compute platforms behind the cabin experience in every Tesla vehicle — driving high-resolution displays, immersive audio, camera and sensor fusion, and on-vehicle AI inference. In this role, you will own next-generation IVI motherboards end-to-end, balancing performance, power, cost, EMC, and automotive reliability to deliver a best-in-class in-cabin experience.

  • Translate product and performance requirements into compute, memory bandwidth, display, audio, networking, peak power, and storage targets
  • Lead parts selection for critical components — SoC, memory, SSD, power-management, display and audio controllers
  • Translate open-ended electrical discussions into concrete circuit schematics
  • Lead PCBA bring-up, electrical characterization, and validation across PVT corners
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with PCB layout, firmware, mechanical, signal and power integrity, thermal, reliability, EMC, and program management
  • Document design requirements, calculations, and power budgets to a level that supports audit and reuse
  • Design for manufacturability, testability, EMC compliance, and automotive reliability
  • Degree in Electrical / Computer Engineering, or equivalent industry experience
  • Demonstrated end-to-end PCBA design ownership with bring-up, FA, and system test
  • 5+ years driving and maintaining schematics in Cadence Allegro Capture or equivalent
  • Complex motherboard experience with high-performance x86/Arm application processors
  • High-speed digital interface experience: PCIe, MIPI, Ethernet, DisplayPort, eDP, USB
  • Low-speed digital interface experience: I2C, UART, SPI, JTAG, GPIO
  • Familiarity with analog and power fundamentals (MOSFETs, op-amps, gate drivers)
  • High-efficiency voltage regulator design and analysis
  • Experience shipping high-volume products from concept to mass production
  • Proficient with bench tools — oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, signal generators
  • Track record of driving suppliers to meet reliability, performance, and scalability targets across the design-to-production lifecycle
  • PCB layout experience in Cadence Allegro or Altium
  • Camera and sensor integration over MIPI CSI-2
  • Automotive networking: Automotive Ethernet (100/1000BASE-T1, TSN/AVB), CAN-FD, LIN
  • Cutting-edge memory: LPDDR5/6, GDDR6/7, UFS, NVMe SSD
  • Content protection (HDCP) and secure-boot bring-up
  • Automotive qualification standards: AEC-Q100/Q200, ISO 26262, IATF 16949
