Position Overview The Team Lead – Ireland Accounts will review the preparation and review of year-end accounts, financial statements, and tax compliance for Irish entities. This role requires strong technical expertise in Irish accounting and taxation, hands-on leadership, and close coordination with clients and internal teams to ensure accuracy, compliance, and timely deliverables. Essential Duties and Responsibilities 1. Year-End Accounts & Financial Statements Lead the preparation and review of year-end working papers and supporting schedules for Irish entities. Review and finalize financial statements prepared using Ireland accounts production software such as Surf, Relate, TaxCalc , or similar platforms. Ensure year-end accounts comply with FRS 102, FRS 105, and SCAPS/PQS requirements. Oversee preparation and maintenance of lead schedules, control accounts , and audit-ready documentation. Review finalized year-end accounts and support timely filing with Revenue Ireland and the Companies Registration Office (CRO) . Act as the technical escalation point for complex accounting matters. 2. Tax Compliance Review and finalize Corporation Tax (CT) Returns for Irish companies. Review Personal Tax Returns (Form 11 / Form 12) prepared for individual clients. Ensure all tax filings are accurate and completed within Revenue Ireland deadlines . Guide the team on tax computations, adjustments, capital allowances, and reliefs. Identify and suggest tax-saving opportunities while ensuring compliance. 3. Reconciliations & Period-End Activities Supervise month-end and year-end supplier and control account reconciliations . Review balance sheet schedules and validate balances for completeness and accuracy. Ensure timely identification and resolution of discrepancies in vendor accounts and year-end balances. Drive consistency and quality across period-end processes. 4. Working Papers & Documentation Review detailed Excel-based working papers to ensure clarity, accuracy, and audit readiness. Ensure proper preparation of lead schedules, control accounts, management letters, and review notes. Maintain high documentation standards in line with internal quality and Irish audit requirements. 5. Compliance & Quality Review Ensure all financial statements and tax filings comply with Irish GAAP (FRS 102 / FRS 105) . Lead internal and external quality review processes and respond to review comments. Ensure consistent application of best practices for Irish accounting engagements. Support process improvements and standardization initiatives. 6. Client Coordination & Communication Act as the primary point of contact for Ireland clients on assigned engagements. Coordinate with clients to obtain required documents and clarify accounting or tax queries. Provide regular status updates on deliverables and manage expectations. Handle queries from auditors, tax advisors, and internal reviewers. Build strong client relationships through proactive communication and issue resolution. 7. Team Leadership & Mentoring Lead, mentor, and review the work of senior associates and associates. Allocate work, manage workloads, and monitor deadlines across engagements. Provide technical guidance and on-the-job training for team members. Support performance reviews and team development initiatives. Key Success Measures Client – Client Satisfaction, Associate Retention and Attraction Financial – Reduced cost-to-serve/optimization, Profitability improvement Operational – Defined Structure, Improved Employee Value Proposition People – Higher associate engagement, lower attrition Education, Skills & Experience ACCA/CA/CMA/CPA qualified 7-8 Years of experience Team handling experience Knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Excel, XERO, CCH, Receipt bank, Surf, Expensify, , QBO Strong understanding of Ireland GAAP (FRS 102, FRS 105) and Revenue Ireland processes. Experience in preparing CT Returns and Personal Tax Returns. Handson experience with accounts production software (Surf, Relate, TaxCalc, etc.). Excellent knowledge of yearend working papers, control accounts, and reconciliations. Proficiency in Excel (vlookups, pivots, formulas for working papers).
