About The Role
The Electrician oversees complex electrical troubleshooting, system upgrades, and control system support. Ensures high reliability of plant electrical systems. May mentor junior electricians.
Diagnose and repair high- and low-voltage systems, motor controls, and drives. Install and maintain PLCs, VFDs, and control circuits. Lead electrical projects and ensure code compliance. Mentor Electrician I and II personnel and support cross-training. Interface with automation, engineering, and maintenance teams. Maintain technical documentation and update panel schematics. Additional duties as assigned.
High school diploma or general education degree (GED). 3-5 years of industrial or heavy manufacturing electrical experience. Proficiency in reading and interpreting complex schematics and control diagrams. Familiarity with Rockwell, Siemens, or similar PLC platforms. Journeyman or Master Electrician Certification required Ability to be certified as a Mineral Mine Electrician via Virginia Energy Strong troubleshooting and decision-making skills. High level of safety and quality. Ability to multi-task at a fast-pace (at times), work in outside conditions during all seasons, climb multi-levels by stairs & ladders, work from elevated platforms, use hand tools (shovel, hammer, wrenches, etc.). Good problem-solving skills. Mine Safety and Health (MSHA) Knowledge - Preferred. Forklift experience - Preferred. Computer Software - Preferred. Warehouse experience - Preferred.
