ATLANTICARE _____________________________________________ ROLE DESCRIPTION TITLE: Scheduling Coordinator Imaging Services JOB CODE: 1505 EXEMPT: NON-EXEMPT: X DATE: 01/25 REVISED: 01/25 (T) 01/26 (Q) POSITION SUMMARY The Scheduling Coordinator is responsible for the daily oversight of all scheduling and medical record functions conducted in Imaging Services. The Scheduler is responsible to ensure accurate and complete scheduling of procedures is completed and supporting documentation needed is acquired prior to the exam. The scheduling coordinator will actively work directly with the imaging team, patients and provider offices to obtain pertinent medical history prior to patient exam utilizing this information to optimize the patient experience by reducing delays and patient rescheduling. This role supports the technologist workflow for assigned patient area as identified. This position supports organizational goals by providing quality customer service, participating in performance improvement efforts and demonstrating a commitment to teamwork and cooperation. QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION: High school diploma or equivalent required. LICENSE/CERTIFICATION: EXPERIENCE: 1-2 years scheduling experience preferred. Knowledge of keyboarding, medical terminology, multiple software systems/applications used for Scheduling, STAR, PowerChart, and IRIS (Radnet). Strong communication and organization skills required. Proficiency in Clinical Applications preferred at time of hire; incumbents within position will be trained appropriately and then skill will be required for this position within 30-60 days from date of hire. PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS Demonstrates the competencies as established on the Assessment and Evaluation Tool for this position. WORK ENVIRONMENT Potential for exposure to the hazards and risk of the hospital environment, including exposure to infectious disease, hazardous substances, and potential injury. This position requires desk/telephone work a majority of the time. This position requires occasional standing and walking and occasional lifting up to 50 pounds. The essential functions for this position are listed on the Assessment and Evaluation Tool. REPORTING RELATIONSHIP This position reports to department leadership. EDUCATION: High school diploma or equivalent required. LICENSE/CERTIFICATION: EXPERIENCE: 3 years experience in the medical field as a registrar, receptionist or other related position required. Knowledge of medical terminology and computer experience with scheduling software programs and STAR is preferred. Proficiency in Clinical Applications preferred at time of hire; incumbents within position will be trained appropriately and then skill will be required for this position within 30-60 days from date of hire.
