Mission: Quality Engineer Liaison

Lead all concerns related to product quality at the customer in Detroit, Michigan (Dearborn). Provide daily on-site support and supervision of the liaison inspection team.

Function/Accountability

  • Responsible for Customer Issue follow-up and resolution to close all customer concerns.
  • Interface with customer assembly plants (at customer facilities in Dearborn), resolving concerns with customers daily.
  • On-Call for all Customer concerns
  • Responsible for developing and maintaining strong customer relations
  • Communicate through available resources, all quality concerns, requirements, and information.
  • Offer ideas for improvement of all systems and help implement them.
  • Responsible for tracking all customer concerns and analyzing data as a proactive step for continuous improvement of products.
  • Responsible for all Countermeasure activity to customer concerns.
  • Coordinate efforts among all required parties to support an effective quality system.
  • Coordinating continuous improvement activities.
  • Additional responsibilities as required – this position is subject to change as the needs of the department change

Education

Two-year degree in a related field with 2-3 years of experience or 5-7 years of related experience as a quality engineer liaison

Experience and knowledge with lean manufacturing

Ability to read blueprints, including GD&T

Working Knowledge Material flow/Process flow analysis

Supervisory and training experience (will have direct reports with coordination of the customer plant)

Development of basic inspection procedures for receiving, process, and final assembly

Preferred Customer and supplier contact related to quality and problem resolution

Experience or knowledge of manufacturing welding practices preferred

Customer service/customer centric, relationship building required

Presentation experience to leadership audiences required

Quality assurance experience in a manufacturing environment (automotive or industrial preferred)

Understanding of customer-related quality procedures and processes
