About The Role

Red Badge Group is seeking experienced, highly professional Security Guards to join us on a construction site in Central Auckland. This is a frontline, site‑based role supporting active construction environments where strong situational awareness, judgement, and communication are essential.

You will play a key role in protecting people, assets, and sensitive site operations while maintaining a calm, approachable, and professional presence at all times.

We are looking for staff to work in 1 year fixed‑term, full-time roles (32 hours per week), operating on 8-hour shifts, across morning, afternoon, or nights.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain a visible, professional security presence , deterring unauthorised access and ensuring site integrity.
  • Manage site access using sign ‑ in/out procedures, permits, and visitor management systems .
  • Conduct regular foot patrols of perimeters, compounds, welfare areas, and storage zones.
  • Monitor and respond to CCTV, alarms, gates, and access systems , escalating issues in line with strict site protocols.
  • Respond to incidents calmly, discreetly, and professionally , liaising with site management, contractors, and emergency services when required.
  • Complete accurate incident reports, daily logs, and handover notes , following company and client standards.
  • Enforce site rules and health & safety requirements , including correct PPE use.
  • Support operational tasks such as locking/unlocking sites, key control, and shift handovers as directed.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Current Green Certificate of Approval (COA) (mandatory).
  • Minimum 1 year security experience in static, retail, construction or similar security.
  • High level of situational awareness, sound judgement, and attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including professional stakeholder engagement and clear reporting.
  • Proven ability to handle sensitive information appropriately and follow strict processes and protocols.
  • High level of customer service, ability to calmly de-escalate situations as needed.
  • Strong understanding of health & safety practices and site safety plans.
  • Physically fit and comfortable with extended foot patrols.
  • Clean criminal conviction record and eligibility to work in New Zealand (18+).
