The context

Black Nova backs early-stage Australian B2B tech startups typically at the point where raw product–market fit is being stress-tested and founders need someone who can translate commercial pressure into a focused roadmap. Our portfolio companies are building in verticals like workforce tech, infrastructure, compliance, and enterprise software. They're resource-constrained, fast-moving, and unforgiving of bloated process.

What great looks like

• You've owned a product at a B2B startup from early chaos through to repeatable growth
• You can run discovery, write a PRD and push a sprint, without a team of ten around you
• You've sat in customer calls and come away with sharper conviction, not more confusion
• You treat "no" to a feature as a win if it protects focus
• You've worked in or around a funded startup, you know how investor cycles affect roadmap priorities

What makes you stand out

• Operator experience across more than one early-stage company
• Comfortable being the only PM in the building for a period
• Track record of impactful features as well as shipping them
• Experience working directly with a founding team
• Domain depth in a vertical our portfolio plays in

Who this is not for

If you're at your best inside a large product org with dedicated research, design, and data teams, this probably isn't the right environment. Our portfolio companies need PMs who create structure, not those who require it.
