Vehicle Paint Technician

Athboy Blasting Centre are seeking an experienced Vehicle Paint Technician to prepare, repair, and refinish vehicle surfaces to a high-quality standard. The successful candidate will have strong knowledge of paint preparation, colour matching, spray-painting techniques, and workplace safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Inspect vehicle surfaces and identify the required repair and refinishing work.
• Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, filling, masking, and priming.
• Mix and match paint colours according to manufacturer specifications.
• Apply primers, base coats, and clear coats using professional spray equipment.
• Repair minor surface imperfections before painting.
• Polish and finish painted surfaces to achieve a high-quality result.
• Inspect completed work and correct any defects.
• Maintain spray booths, tools, and equipment in good working condition.
• Follow all health, safety, and environmental procedures.
• Complete assigned work within agreed deadlines.

Skills and Experience

• A relevant qualification in motor vehicle technology is desirable but not essential
• Minimum 1 year of experience as vehicle paint technician
• Exposure to all types of vehicles is an advantage
• Good communication skills
• Attention to detail

Qualifications & Requirements

• National apprentice qualification or equivalent
• Full, valid, clean driving licence. Not mandatory but an advantage.
• Knowledge and awareness of workshop health and safety practices
