PCA- 3A Med Surg (Nights) FT

The Patient Care Associate (PCA)/Student Nurse/Unit Secretary provides high quality, direct patient care to an assigned group of patients. This includes, but is not limited to: activities of daily living, utilization of safe patient handling equipment, measure and document intake and output, foley removal, external urinary catheter management, telemetry monitor set up, blood glucose monitoring, oxygen set up and tasks delegated per scope of practice and skill set. This position may also provide clerical support to the care team including acting as a liaison facilitating communication with or between other care providers and visitors directly or via telephone. This individual works collaboratively with other care team members including the patient and family, and participates collaboratively with RN to achieve optimal outcomes.
