About The Role
Responsible for the oversight and management of the day-to-day operations of the department. Works with both, staff and patients to promote a healthy and safe work environment. Enforces evidence-based policies, procedures and standards of care. Supervises staff; assists in selection of personnel for hire; performance management, and makes recommendations on discipline and termination. Responsible for executing strategic initiatives including but not limited to scheduling of cases, supplies and equipment, case turn over, intra-departmental handoffs or patient discharge process. Other related duties as assigned.
General Management: Supports established goals and objectives that support overall strategic plans of the facility Monitors the annual department operating and capital budgets Supervises daily operations of assigned department/s Supervises performance of staff Demonstrates objectivity in decision making, utilizing facts to support decisions Supports the mission statement, policies and procedures Participates in eliminating boundaries to achieve integrated, efficient and quality service Achieves ongoing compliance with all regulatory agencies Serves as a resource to employees and customers as demonstrated by visibility and knowledge of issues Demonstrates flexibility in response to change Anticipates and responds to problems and risks Communicates effectively with all levels in the organization and with inter/external customers People Management: Assists in selection of personnel for hire and promotion; takes appropriate actions regarding counseling, disciplinary actions, demotion and termination Supervises, supports and coaches direct reports Responds proactively to employee needs and concerns Assists with development of “experts” and “expertise” throughout the department and seeks employee input Facilitates consensus among divergent groups Minimizes staff turnover Conveys employees’ strengths and accomplishments Assists in evaluating assigned staff performance and competency, providing direct feedback Supports competency plans Department/Business Unit Management: Completes schedules to insure an appropriate level of staffing Functions as a staff person as necessary Maintains appropriate supply levels Maintains accurate records of all procedures performed Oversees students and other hospital employees visiting the area Utilizes resources efficiently and effectively Maintains safe environment Addresses patient population-specific needs Participates in Performance Improvement activities
Special Skills Minimum Requirements Experience: 3 years of experience in cardiovascular services. Education: Graduate of accredited school of nursing and/or accredited school of radiology and/or accredited school of cardiovascular technology. Certifications: Currently licensed, certified, or registered to practice profession as required by law, regulation in state of practice or policy AART, ACVT or RCIS; BLS. Preferred Requirements Education: Bachelor’s degree. #LI-AL1
