About The Role

Located in a tight-knit community in Kings County, Adventist Health Hanford has been serving the Central Valley since 1965. Within an hour's travel time, Yosemite, Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks can be enjoyed. Job Summary: Provides assistance in providing patient care during labor, delivery and recovery. Performs surgical scrub duties, maintains acceptable levels of supplies, and provides turnover of patient areas. Assists in the operating room with obstetrics/gynecology (OB/GYN) related surgery. Assists with patient care before and after surgery. Job Requirements: Education and Work Experience: High School Education/GED or equivalent: Required Associate’s/Technical Degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience: Preferred Licenses/Certifications: Surgical Technician or Obstetrical Technician certification: Preferred Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy: Required Facility Specific License/Certifications: AHA-BLS or ARC-BLS: Required Essential Functions: Assists in preparation of patient rooms. Opens sterile supplies and sets up for procedure utilizing aseptic technique, and checking integrity of sterile packaging. Assists the surgical team during operative procedures, providing needed supplies and instruments in a timely manner. Participates in the timeout on each case. Assist nursing staff in deliveries as directed by nurse: preparation, positioning, transports, transfer and discharge of patient. Collects urinalysis (UA) specimens. Applies fetal monitoring equipment. Takes and records maternal vital signs, weight, height and intake & output (I&O) measurements. Performs personal care services and assists with activities of daily living for patients in providing general care. Prepares, positions, transports, transfers and discharges patient.
