Senior Platform Engineer

Join Burq as a Senior Platform Engineer, the founding member of our Platform team. You will own our engineering foundations, including infrastructure, security, CI/CD, and reliability. This high-leverage, high-ownership role involves designing and building the platform that Burq will scale on for the next several years. You will manage our AWS infrastructure, enhance security measures, improve CI/CD processes, and ensure observability and reliability.

• Infrastructure management, including AWS account split, Aurora DB migration, and Terraform usage.
• Security and access control, including IAM hardening, public S3 bucket audits, and SOC 2 Type 2 readiness.
• CI/CD pipeline ownership and improvement, including GitHub Actions, build times, and deployment velocity.

• Security-minded — you know how to harden systems without creating friction for product engineers
• 5+ years of engineering experience with 3+ years focused on infrastructure and platform engineering
• Experience with observability tooling — CloudWatch, Datadog, or equivalent
• Terraform proficiency — you write infrastructure as code and know why it matters
• Deep AWS expertise — ECS, RDS, S3, IAM, CloudWatch, SQS, Lambda, account architecture
• Strong CI/CD background — GitHub Actions, deployment pipelines, environment management
