Senior Software Engineer (Core Product)

Join Homebase as a Senior Software Engineer on the Core Product team, where you'll build essential products for small business owners, including Scheduling, HR Management, and Payroll. • Design, build, and launch features across Scheduling, HRM, and Payroll, and stay with them in production.
• Deliver reliable, testable, maintainable code where accuracy matters, from hours worked to dollars paid.
• Lead the implementation of components and services, own estimates and delivery, and bring junior engineers along.

• Experience with payroll, scheduling, workforce management, or similarly complex business domains is a plus
• Strong software engineering fundamentals and a record of shipping production software that customers depend on
• Owns estimation, execution, and iterative improvement
• Know when AI creates real leverage and when it adds noise, and keep human judgment on every change you ship
• Share the AI workflows that work with your team and help others try them
• Ideal candidate brings a strong background in Ruby on Rails
• Active AI fluency: you use AI tools daily to improve your own work and can show the impact
• Craft you can show: clean design, solid tests, and thoughtful trade-offs
• Retool your own workflows with AI to raise velocity and quality, and measure the impact
• Comfort working in a high-velocity environment where shipping fast and iterating matters
