Meeting the requirements, we are looking for strong Nurse Management Leadership skills The Nursing Manager leads and directs the nursing service in the hospital, including patient safety and patient experience and the management of human and other resources. REQUIRED EDUCATION ESSENTIAL EDUCATION: Professional Nurse qualification and Postgraduate Diploma in Health Services Management or an Accredited Management Qualification Postgraduate Diploma in Nursing when managing a specialist hospital (e.g. Mental Healthcare) DESIRED EDUCATION: N/A REQUIRED EXPERIENCE ESSENTIAL MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: 5 years’ Professional Nurse Experience in a hospital 3 years’ Nursing Management Experience DESIRED EXPERIENCE: N/A KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS Compile, implement and monitor the hospital-specific nursing strategy Drive and support a culture of quality nursing care and patient safety Manage resources to ensure optimal operational efficiency Manage the patient experience Lead and manage people in the nursing department Manage key stakeholder relations REQUIRED JOB SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE Auditing and accreditation processes Clinical risk management Computer literate (Microsoft Office) Continuous improvement and quality assurance methodologies Financial management Healthcare industry Human resource processes including employee relations Infection prevention and control Management of staff productivity Nursing functional knowledge Patient complaint management Relevant nursing legislation All applicants will be considered, with the understanding that preference will be given in accordance with the Employment Equity Plan of Mediclinic Southern Africa, as well as internal applicants/employees that meet the minimum requirements.
