Oracle Banking Functional Consultant - Egypt (Contractor)

As a Functional Consultant , you will work with customers, onsite teams and development teams to understand business requirements and translate them into functional solutions. You will contribute across the software development lifecycle, from requirements analysis and solution design through configuration, testing and delivery, ensuring that solutions meet business needs and quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Work independently and collaborate with customers and internal stakeholders to deliver assigned projects.
• Gather, analyse and document business requirements, preparing Business Requirements Documents (BRDs) and Functional Specification Documents (FSDs).
• Work with development teams to translate requirements into functional specifications, product configurations and solution designs.
• Take ownership of the quality, accuracy and completeness of functional deliverables.
• Prepare test plans, test cases and scenarios, maintaining traceability between business requirements, functional specifications and test coverage.
• Execute functional and regression testing, track defects using tools such as Jira, and coordinate resolution through closure.
• Lead and guide team members while ensuring adherence to software development and testing lifecycle processes.
• Conduct product walkthroughs, customer presentations and training sessions for functional and technical teams.
• Develop proofs of concept, training materials and reusable product and functional documentation.
• Learn and apply testing automation tools to increase automation coverage.
• Build knowledge of new banking domains and product capabilities to contribute effectively to project delivery.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Advanced proficiency in French and English, with strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience in business analysis within the banking domain.
• Good understanding of accounting concepts and their application to banking processes.
• Functional experience across at least two banking modules.
• Experience in product configuration, solution design and functional testing.
• Experience preparing BRDs, FSDs, test plans and test cases.
• Understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC).
• Experience leading teams and coordinating activities across business and technical stakeholders.
• Strong analytical, presentation, training and stakeholder management skills.
• Familiarity with defect tracking tools such as Jira.
• Knowledge of Agile methodologies.
• Ability to learn new banking domains and work independently.

Preferred Qualifications

• Exposure to testing automation tools and frameworks.
• Experience with one or more core banking platforms, such as Oracle FLEXCUBE, Finastra, Temenos T24 or Finacle.
• Knowledge of or experience in Islamic banking.
