Accenture Construct - Project Engineer, ANS
InfrastructureandCapitalProjects · San Juan
About The Role
You've Never Been Satisfied with "Good Enough."
You didn't get into this to manage one piece of a project. You got into it to change how the world gets built.
At Accenture Construct, that's the job. You'll help deliver the data centers, power grids, rail networks, factories and public infrastructure that keep communities moving — smarter, safer and more sustainably.
You'll work alongside people who think big and act bold: project managers, engineers, technologists and strategists who pair real-world delivery with AI. And you won't be handed a slice of it. We take on whole programs, from early strategy through construction and handover, and we stand behind how they land.
Because “good enough” builds the past. You're here to build what's next.

THE WORK:
You’ll perform pre-engineering studies and site layout evaluations to support project scoping, including PVsyst generation modeling, DC/AC ratio evaluations, and grid interconnection protection requirements for project design.
You’ll conduct pre-engineering job walks (field visits) and collaborate with the EPC Construction Manager, Lead Electrical Engineer, or Civil DPE to finalize the site design and scope of work.
You’ll review, design, and approve solar PV and substation engineering drawing packages, including single-line diagrams (SLDs), DC string layouts, AC collection systems, elementary diagrams, and civil grading plans, ensuring compliance with EPC specifications and design standards.
You’ll perform system modeling and engineering studies using tools like PVsyst, ETAP, and CYME to conduct short circuit, load flow, and protection coordination studies for utility-scale solar plants.
You’ll review and manage technical submittals, vendor drawings, and equipment specifications for key major equipment (PV modules, central/string inverters, tracker systems, transformers, and switchgear).
You’ll provide field engineering support during EPC construction, commissioning, and plant energization, including reviewing RFI responses, field change requests (FCRs), as-built drawings, and punch lists.
You’ll collaborate with stakeholders, such as utility interconnect engineers, EPC contractors, project managers, and commissioning technicians, to support project delivery and grid integration. You’ll maintain and apply knowledge of utility interconnection standards, NEC regulations, NERC PRC compliance, and IEEE solar design standards.
You’ll travel to solar project field locations occasionally to support site walks, construction quality audits, or energization testing needs as required. You’ll manage and track engineering deliverables, design change logs, and value engineering initiatives throughout the EPC construction execution lifecycle.
HERE'S WHAT YOU'LL NEED:
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
At least five years of project engineering or design experience related to utility-scale solar PV power plants and EPC construction execution.
BONUS POINTS IF YOU HAVE:
Preferred experience with utility-scale solar PV and battery energy storage systems (BESS) co-located installations.
Experience with substation, collector system, or high-voltage interconnection engineering in the electric utility or renewable energy industry. Experience in performing solar resource assessments, PVsyst modeling, cable sizing, and voltage drop calculations. Hands-on experience with EPC construction management, sub-tier contractor oversight, and field engineering support during construction and commissioning phases.
Expertise in single-axis tracker mechanics, structural foundation design review, or civil site balance of plant (BOP) design. Knowledge of utility interconnection requirements, NEC (Article 690/705), IEEE standards, and NERC compliance standards.
Experience with project management software and document management systems (e.g., Procore, Primavera P6, BIM 360, or Microsoft Project). Proficiency in solar engineering and design software such as PVsyst, Helioscope, AutoCAD, ETAP, and Bluebeam.
