Engineering Team Lead

As an Engineering Team Lead, you will lead a team of backend and frontend engineers, overseeing the full development lifecycle and delivering meaningful customer value. You should have at least 7 years of software engineering experience, strong knowledge of software design and scalable web architecture, and experience managing an engineering team.

• Lead a team of backend and frontend engineers in building HiBob’s product, overseeing the full development lifecycle.
• Combine technical leadership, people management, and partnership with Product and Design to deliver meaningful customer value.
• Guide technical decisions across backend and frontend, balancing simplicity, quality, delivery speed, and long-term maintainability.

**Requirements**

• 7+ years of professional software engineering experience, with a strong backend background.
• Experience managing an engineering team, or substantial experience leading engineers, mentoring others, and driving delivery, with demonstrated readiness for people management.
• Strong knowledge of software design, scalable web architecture, and distributed systems.
• Experience developing and operating SaaS products on AWS or an equivalent cloud platform.
• Ability to guide technical decisions across backend and frontend, balancing simplicity, quality, delivery speed, and long-term maintainability.
• Strong product and customer orientation, with experience translating complex requirements into practical technical solutions.
• Strong people leadership skills, including coaching, constructive feedback, delegation, and building team ownership.
• An independent, resourceful, and proactive approach, with the ability to create clarity, communicate trade-offs, and surface risks early.
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills in Hebrew and English.

The following is a big plus

• Experience with JVM languages, particularly Kotlin, Java or Scala.
• Experience leading a cross-functional product engineering team.
• Experience evolving an existing product and architecture while continuing to deliver customer value.
• Experience with complex workflows, permission models, or sensitive customer data.
• Practical experience using AI-assisted development tools and helping others use them effectively.
• Contributions to engineering guilds, technical forums, or cross-team initiatives.
