Contract Staff Software Engineer (WebCompat & Bug Triage)

Join Mozilla as a Contract Staff Software Engineer focused on WebCompat and Bug Triage. In this role, you will help reduce Firefox's WebCompat bug backlog by diagnosing and fixing site-breakage bugs. You will also write interventions and simple fixes, reproduce and triage incoming site-breakage reports, and work with AI-assisted tools. • Diagnosing and verifying the diagnosis of long-tail WebCompat bugs, and writing interventions or simple fixes.
• Reproducing and triaging incoming site-breakage reports, and turning a large queue of reported breakages into diagnosed, actionable, or fixed bugs.
• Collaborating with the team to reduce Firefox’s WebCompat bug backlog and improve the overall user experience.

• Solid web development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and comfort debugging real-world site breakage
• Fluent with browser devtools and cross-browser diagnosis
• Comfortable using AI tooling to speed up diagnosis and fixes
• Gecko knowledge is a strong plus (but can be taught)
• Prior WebCompat or web-standards experience
