Leasing Accounting Specialist with French

About The Role
As a Leasing Accounting Specialist, you will be responsible for the end-to-end accounting process for lease contracts. You will ensure accurate lease accounting treatment, maintain lease records, prepare accounting entries, and support month-end closing and financial reporting in accordance with accounting standards and client requirements.
Role description
- Manage the end-to-end accounting process for lease contracts, including the creation and maintenance of new and existing lease agreements.
- Calculate and record lease liabilities, right-of-use (ROU) assets, depreciation, and other lease-related accounting entries.
- Process lease contract modifications, including renewals, amendments, reassessments, and terminations.
- Prepare and post journal entries related to lease accounting and fixed assets.
- Perform account reconciliations to ensure the accuracy of lease balances and financial records.
- Support month-end and year-end closing activities by preparing lease accounting data and ensuring timely completion of deliverables.
- Maintain accurate lease records and ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal policies.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders and cross-functional teams to resolve accounting queries and support financial reporting.
- Assist with audits by providing lease accounting documentation and supporting schedules.
- Identify opportunities to improve lease accounting processes and contribute to process optimization initiatives.
- Perform additional accounting and finance tasks as assigned.
Qualifications
- Fluent French (minimum B2) and English (minimum B2).
- Bachelor's degree in Economics, Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in Lease Accounting or Leasing Accounting processes.
- Experience with General Ledger (GL) and/or Record-to-Report (RTR) processes is an advantage.
- Experience preparing and posting Journal Entries.
- Experience performing account reconciliations.
- Knowledge of lease accounting principles (IFRS 16) and fixed assets accounting.
- Experience working with lease liabilities, right-of-use assets, and depreciation calculations.
- Experience working with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar) is an advantage.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively within month-end closing deadlines.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills in an international environment.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently while contributing to a team.
