About The Role
Join BA Blacktop Ltd., a leader in the construction and infrastructure sector. As an AI Support Assistant, you will improve operational workflows, implement automation, and lead the adoption of AI tools. This fixed-term position is based in either Nisku, AB or Vancouver, BC.
- Identifying manual, repetitive, or inefficient processes and helping teams replace them with simpler, more consistent ways of working through process improvement, automation, and AI tools.
- Developing Power Automate workflows and other Microsoft 365 automations, reducing duplicate data entry between systems, and measuring time savings from implemented solutions.
- Leading the adoption of Microsoft Copilot, training employees and managers on practical daily uses, and building a library of reusable prompts and templates.

- Experience with process improvement methodologies
- Microsoft 365 expertise
- Microsoft Copilot
- Power Automate
- Power BI (preferred)
- Excellent facilitation and communication skills
- Ability to work with both field and office employees
- Strong curiosity and analytical thinking
- Practical understanding of construction or industrial operations is an asset
**What do we value?**
- Completion of a bachelor’s degree in computer science/data science/information systems or related field
- 3+ years of experience as a Business Intelligence Analyst, Data Analyst, or similar role within a data-driven environment.
- Experience with machine learning and analytics
- Strong proficiency in SQL for querying and manipulating large datasets.
- Hands-on experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI
- Experience with Google Sheets, including Google Apps Script for automation and integrations.
- Familiarity with ETL concepts and data transformation tools
- Comfortable working with APIs and cloud-based data platforms
- Good understanding of data modeling, data governance, and best practices for maintaining data quality and consistency
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail and data accuracy.
- Excellent communication skills; able to simplify complex data findings for non-technical audiences
- Proactive, curious, and comfortable working both independently and collaboratively in a team setting
- Organized, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment
**Experience:**
- Machine learning and analytics: 3 years (required)
- Business Intelligence Analyst, Data Analyst, or similar role: 3 years (required)
