Role Overview

Focuses on advancing laser dentistry through clinical research by optimizing laser parameters and developing new evidence-based applications for laser devices. Emphasizes the validation of safety and efficacy, clinician training, regulatory compliance, and rigorous data analysis. These roles serve as a critical bridge between R&D engineering and clinical practice.

Clinical Research & R&D Responsibilities – Dental Laser Applications

  • Clinical Research & Studies

Design, conduct, and oversee clinical studies evaluating the safety and efficacy of dental laser systems in applications such as wound healing and periodontal therapy.

  • Clinical Training & Education

Train dentists, hygienists, and dental assistants on

  • Laser clinical protocols
  • Laser soft tissue procedures including bacterial reduction and gingival contouring.
  • Ensure competency and consistency across users.

Laser Implementation & Workflow Integration

Support clinical sites in achieving operational proficiency, including

  • Device setup and calibration
  • Workflow integration
  • Standardization of procedures to ensure reproducible outcomes
  • Technology Advancement & Collaboration

Partner with R&D engineering teams to

  • Optimize laser parameters (power, pulse duration, frequency)
  • Regulatory Support

Develop technical documentation and clinical evidence to support

  • FDA 510(k) submissions and Premarket Approval (PMA)
  • EU MDR compliance

Demonstrate strong understanding of

  • Good Clinical Practice (GCP)
  • ISO 14155

Qualifications

Skills & Qualifications

  • Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Biomedical Engineering, Nursing, Biological Sciences, or a related field required.
  • Experience
  • 1-3+ years of experience in clinical research, preferably in medical device studies.
  • Prior experience with laser systems or energy-based devices is highly preferred.
  • Exposure to dental or oral healthcare applications is a strong advantage.
  • Ability to manage, review, and ensure integrity of clinical data
  • Communication & Interpersonal Skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to effectively collaborate with: Clinicians. Researchers, Engineering teams, Study participants
