What You'll Learn
Our comprehensive training program includes instructor-led classroom learning, online coursework, and hands-on shop experience covering:
- Shop Safety
- Precision Machining Technology
- Basic Math & Blueprint Reading
- Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T)
- Precision Measurement
- Basic Shop Machinery
- Computer Numerical Control (CNC)
What You'll Do
- Learn manufacturing skills from experienced professionals
- Apply classroom knowledge through hands-on work assignments
- Attend all scheduled classroom and on-the-job training sessions
- Complete assignments and meet program standards
- Develop shop floor skills while meeting performance expectations
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Demonstrate reliability, teamwork, and a willingness to learn every day

Program Start: September 2026
Training Schedule
- Monday through Friday
- 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.

Penn United Technologies’ Carl E. Jones Learning Institute
Cabot, PA
Qualifications
Qualifications
To be considered for this program, applicants must
- Possess a high school diploma or GED equivalent
- Successfully complete an aptitude assessment and interview
- Possess strong mechanical aptitude, math skills, and problem-solving ability
- Have a strong work ethic of dependability as demonstrated in regular attendance and punctuality
- Be willing to work daylight, afternoon, and/or midnight shifts as needed after classroom training is complete
- Successfully pass a pre-employment physical, drug screen, and criminal background check
Preferred but not required: Vocational or technical school training
