JOB TITLE: Commercial Cleaning Lead

EMPLOYER: Level Seven Commercial Cleaning

  • CLIENT SITE: Clayton County Public Schools campus
  • EMPLOYMENT TYPE: Full-Time (school-calendar schedule), typical shift 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM
  • REPORTS TO: Assistant Operations Manager, Operations Manager, Senior Operations Manager

SUMMARY

The Commercial Cleaning Lead is a full-time, hands-on leadership role responsible for the daytime cleaning operation at a Clayton County Public Schools campus, performing cleaning duties while directing the daytime team, coordinating with the evening/night crew, and serving as the primary point of contact for school leadership on day-to-day service matters.

LEADERSHIP RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Directly oversees the full-time daytime custodian and the part-time daytime custodian, assigning and monitoring daily tasks and confirming completion against Level Seven standards.
  • Trains new daytime teammates on site-specific procedures, safety protocols, and school requirements, and monitors their attendance and performance.
  • Escalates staffing gaps, supply needs, repairs, or performance concerns to the Assistant Operations Manager / Operations Manager.
  • Coordinates with the evening/night cleaning crew (engaged as 1099 independent contractors) to hand off site priorities, outstanding tasks, and any issues from the day; confirms assigned nightly duties are being completed and reports concerns to the Operations Manager as needed.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Adheres to the company's safety policies, operational procedures, and service standards.
  • Responds to communications from management and school leadership and completes tasks as directed.
  • Reports repairs and replacements as needed when encountered during service provision.
  • Breakfast & Lunch: Breakfast trash collection; lunch-period cleanup and turnover; table and surface wiping; spill and accident response.
  • Entrances and Lobby: Entryways swept; door mats shaken out and/or vacuumed; smudges removed from entry door glass; floors swept and mopped with neutral flooring solution.
  • Floors: All carpeted floors vacuumed; all hard surface floors swept and mopped with neutral floor solution; restroom floors swept and mopped with mild disinfectant floor solution.
  • Restrooms: Fixtures cleaned and sanitized (counters, sinks, toilets); doorknobs and handles disinfected; mirrors cleaned and dry buffed; towel, tissue, and soap dispensers restocked and wiped clean.
  • Offices, Hallways, Stairwells, Conference Areas & Nurse’s Station: Trash removal; vacuuming, sweeping and mopping; spot cleaning accessible glass; disinfecting commonly touched surfaces.
  • Dining and Multipurpose Areas: Trash removal; table and surface wiping; sweeping and mopping floors; spot cleaning doors and accessible glass; general cleanup (kitchen/cafeteria back-of-house excluded).
  • Receptacles: All waste receptacles emptied; liners replaced from stock each day.
  • Glass: Smudges removed from window glass, entry door glass, mirrors, office enclosure glass (if applicable), and interior transom or misc. glass.
  • Dusting: All horizontal surfaces dusted and/or damp-wiped, including desks, computer equipment, printers, phones, furniture, fixtures, picture frames, thermostats, light fixtures, filing cabinets, and shelving.
  • Consumables: Monitors inventory of paper products, soap, and liners and communicates re-order needs.
  • Periodic (monthly): Air grills/returns and restroom exhaust fan grills wiped clean; baseboards, switch plates, kick plates, and wall scuffs wiped clean.
  • Periodic (quarterly): Blinds dusted (if applicable).

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS - CLAYTON COUNTY PUBLIC SCHOOLS CAMPUS

The following requirements apply in addition to the requirements above.

  • Must pass a Clayton County Public Schools background check prior to being assigned to any Clayton County school campus, and must maintain clearance for the duration of the assignment.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing, with school staff and administration, and to respond promptly to safety and emergency instructions while on campus.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

  • Commercial cleaning and disinfecting experience a plus.
  • Experience in school facility cleaning is a plus.
  • 1-2 years of experience in a lead, supervisory, or similar leadership role (direct or indirect) preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Frequently required to stand.
  • Frequently required to walk.
  • Frequently required to sit.
  • Occasionally required to climb, balance, bend, stoop, kneel or crawl.
  • Frequently works around cleaning chemicals.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
  • Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds/frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds/continually lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
  • Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization's facilities.

EQUIPMENT USED

  • Pressure washers, ride-on floor scrubbers, and/or carpet and flooring maintenance equipment.
