Figure is headquartered in San Jose, CA.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;p&gt;We are looking for an engineer to join our Middleware team with a passion for helping other teams move fast and fearless, and who appreciates the impact multiplier of that work.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Our middleware is an in-house design focused on efficiency and low latency/jitter. Delivering over 200,000 messages per second between 190 nodes on each robot, zero-copy and lock-free. We work hard to provide abstractions that make using it a pleasant experience for all teams at the company.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Responsibilities:&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;ul&gt;
&lt;li&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Design and build the core framework and infrastructure the robot runs on.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Work directly with client teams to understand how they use it and where it gets in their way.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Turn that understanding into better abstractions and tooling.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;/ul&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Requirements:&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;ul&gt;
&lt;li&gt;
&lt;p&gt;At least 7 years of experience building production software in C++&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Mastery of Modern C++ (&amp;gt;20).&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Familiarity with Python.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Experience working on embedded systems and timing sensitive environments.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Intimate understanding of the interface between the Linux kernel and userspace applications.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Passion for developing well tested frameworks and infrastructure that just works day in and day out for years to come.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Motivated by working directly with other teams to understand their needs.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;/li&gt;

&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Bonus Qualifications:&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Experience building frameworks and infrastructure with large user bases.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;/ul&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The US base salary range for this full-time position is $180,000 to $250,000 per year.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The pay offered for this position may vary based on several individual factors, including job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package may also include additional components/benefits depending on the specific role. This information will be shared if an employment offer is extended.&lt;/p&gt;
