</ul></div><p><strong>Your responsibilities</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Initiate and develop an R&D stream focused on fuel and fusible materials integration into experimental targets for in-house use.</li>
<li>Translate experimental requirements into reproducible fabrication processes, including scale-up of deposition and micro-fabrication techniques for target component integration.</li>
<li>Characterization and metrology of fabricated components, to verify specifications are met.</li>
<li>Coordinating multi-partner consortia and associated reporting: build and maintain collaborations with academic and industrial partners.</li>
<li>Drafting of public funding applications.</li>
<li>Mentor junior scientists and coordinate cross-functional teams.</li>
<li>Documentation and reporting: write and oversee technical and safety documentation, protocols development, and contribute to internal, external, and funding-body reports.</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>What you bring</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>8+ years of experience in Chemistry, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering or a related field, with demonstrated seniority in an R&D environment.</li>
<li>Hands-on experience with several of the following fabrication techniques, and working knowledge of the rest:
<ul>
<li>Deposition techniques and material synthesis (e.g. CVD, MLD, ALD, PLD, sputter-coating, e-beam and thermal evaporation, spray-coating, spin-coating, electrodeposition).</li>
<li>Laser cutting or machining using picosecond and/or femtosecond laser systems.</li>
<li>Additive manufacturing techniques.</li>
<li>Molding, hot pressing.</li>
</ul>
</li>
<li>Hands-on experience with several of the following characterization and metrology techniques, and working knowledge of the rest, applied to fabricated components to verify specifications are met: atomic force microscopy (AFM), profilometry, ellipsometry, scanning electron microscopy (SEM), Raman spectroscopy, and Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR).</li>
<li>Practical experience working with processes under inert atmosphere for sensitive or reactive materials.</li>
<li>Experience working in ISO-classified cleanroom environments.</li>
<li>A track record leading or contributing to multi-partner research or industrial collaborations.</li>
<li>Experience leading or contributing to public funding applications, with a track record of awarded proposals.</li>
<li>Providing technical leadership and mentoring junior scientists and engineers in an experimental environment with evolving priorities.</li>
<li>Strong written and verbal communication skills in English, including technical writing for proposals and reports.</li>
</ul>
