About The Role

Description

Job Summary: The Rodbuster is responsible for assembling and installing reinforcing steel (rebar) used in concrete construction projects such as foundations, slabs, columns, bridges, and other structures. This role plays a critical part in ensuring structural integrity and adherence to project specifications and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and rebar schedules
  • Measure, cut, bend, and tie reinforcing steel using appropriate tools and equipment
  • Install rebar, wire mesh, and post-tension cables in accordance with design specifications
  • Secure rebar in place using wire, clips, or welds prior to concrete pours
  • Work with cranes or rigging equipment to position heavy materials
  • Inspect rebar installations to ensure proper alignment, spacing, and structural integrity
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment in compliance with OSHA and company standards
  • Collaborate with supervisors, concrete crews, and other trades on-site
  • Perform physically demanding tasks in various weather conditions
  • Other duties as assigned

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift, carry, and position materials weighing up to 75+ pounds
  • Frequent bending, kneeling, climbing, and standing for extended periods
  • Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination required
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions

Work Environment

  • Active construction site with exposure to noise, dust, and heavy equipment

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • 1–3+ years of experience in concrete reinforcement or structural steel work preferred
  • Ability to read construction drawings and follow technical instructions
  • Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and rebar tying techniques
  • Strong understanding of construction site safety practices
