About the role:

This is afull timerole in the Research department of Jones Lang LaSalle. Day to day activities include gathering information, writing, and reporting on major trends in the retailproperty market in Shanghai and China. The role will include a considerable contribution to the quality and accuracy of research produced by the firm, production of thought leadership publications, consulting projects, and development of aconstantly-evolving“house view” onretailproperty.
What this job involves:
Use primary and secondary data sources to develop, enhance and leverage understanding of China’s national and city economies, demographics, and commercial real estate markets
Conduct fieldwork, including vacancy and tenant inspections of existing projects as well as assessment of future project completion dates by cultivating local contacts and conducting interviews.
Serve as a client facing conduit for JLL research, actively participating in pitches,presentationsand projects.
Author quarterly research reports and blogs; periodically contribute to themed white papers
Prepare market presentations, client reports, and studies
Sound like you? To apply you will have:

Bachelor’s degree in business,economics, social sciences, or related field preferred; master’s degree a plus

China-specific exposure to property investment and/or property-related consulting, urban planning, orotherrelated field is a major plus

A demonstrated interest in (or exposure to) retail real estate, including but not limitedto: consumer research, e-commerce, shopping malls and brand expansion
-
Advanced fluency in English is required; you will be required to communicate in English with international clients and developers, as well as draft English reports

High-level analytical and problem-solving skills, and strategic-thinking capacity; proficiency in Microsoft Excel

Experienced, polished and innovative presentation skills and strong proficiency working with PowerPoint
-
Willingness to develop proficiency with new platforms to identify insights through data analytics and mapping

Self-motivated, able to work independently and travel independently when required (role is at least 10% travel)
