Job Type: Part-Time 0.5 FTE (20 hours per week), Fixed Term until 31 August 2027
Location: Washington DC, USA
Working Pattern: Hybrid, open to considering all hybrid working patterns. The preferred working arrangement is 20 hours per week worked over two full days and one half day each week, although flexibility is available in how those hours are scheduled.

About the job
The Multimedia Specialist (Graphics and Publication, Part-time) supports the development, adaptation, and publication of visual content, learning resources, and communications materials that support strategic educational initiatives. Working closely with content specialists, learning designers, project coordinators, subject matter experts, and multilingual production teams, the role creates and adapts publication-ready assets that support schools, educators, IB staff, and professional learning experiences.
- Collaborate with learning designers, content developers, translators, subject matter experts, and stakeholders to develop effective multimedia solutions.
- Develop, adapt, and publish high-quality visual content and publication-ready assets for diverse audiences.
- Gather, assess, and implement stakeholder feedback throughout content development and publication cycles.
- Provide guidance on graphic design, publication approaches, accessibility considerations, and content adaptation requirements.
- Contribute to the improvement of templates, workflows, production methods, and asset management practices.
- Support the application of accessibility, publication, and quality standards across assigned projects.
- Research emerging multimedia tools, accessibility practices, and visual design trends.
- Participate in quality assurance reviews and implement revisions to improve content effectiveness and accessibility.
- Bachelor’s degree, diploma, certification, or equivalent professional experience in graphic design, multimedia design, visual communication, digital media, or a related field.
- Professional experience producing graphic design, publication, and digital content assets.
- Strong portfolio demonstrating expertise in graphic design, publication design, information design, and digital content creation.
- Advanced proficiency with Figma and Adobe Creative Cloud, including InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, and Acrobat.
- Strong publication design, layout, typography, and information design skills.
- Knowledge of accessibility standards and best practices for digital and document-based content.
- Strong organizational, planning, and project management skills.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to manage competing priorities while maintaining quality and meeting deadlines.
