About The Role

LV Petroleum, LLC is seeking an experienced Environmental Compliance Specialist to support environmental regulatory compliance across our travel centers, fuel stations, and other company-operated facilities.
This position will focus primarily on underground storage tank (UST) compliance, environmental inspections, testing coordination, regulatory documentation, and corrective action follow-up.
The Environmental Compliance Specialist will work closely with site management, regulatory agencies, and third-party vendors to ensure environmental compliance requirements are maintained across multiple states.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Monitor and support compliance with federal, state, and local environmental regulations applicable to company-operated facilities.
  • Oversee compliance documentation and recordkeeping for underground storage tank (UST) systems.
  • Coordinate required UST inspections, testing, monitoring, and certification activities with qualified vendors.
  • Track regulatory deadlines, permits, inspection schedules, and testing requirements.
  • Review automatic tank gauge (ATG) alarms, leak detection reports, and other monitoring records to identify potential compliance concerns.
  • Coordinate investigation and resolution of UST alarms, failed tests, equipment deficiencies, and environmental compliance issues.
  • Prepare facilities for regulatory inspections and assist with responses to inspection findings.
  • Maintain accurate environmental compliance records, including testing reports, inspection documentation, and corrective action records.
  • Support proper waste management, storage, handling, and disposal practices in accordance with applicable regulations.
  • Coordinate with environmental contractors, testing companies, and regulatory agencies as needed.
  • Conduct site visits and environmental compliance assessments to identify deficiencies and recommend corrective actions.
  • Track outstanding environmental issues and follow up with site management to ensure timely resolution.
  • Assist with spill prevention, spill response planning, and environmental incident reporting.
  • Provide environmental compliance training and guidance to site managers and operational personnel.
  • Prepare compliance status reports and communicate significant concerns to company leadership.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in environmental compliance, petroleum operations, UST compliance, or a related field preferred.
  • Working knowledge of federal and state underground storage tank regulations.
  • Experience with UST inspection requirements, leak detection systems, ATG monitoring, and environmental recordkeeping strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with EPA regulations, environmental reporting requirements, and waste management practices.
  • Experience coordinating regulatory inspections and third-party environmental vendors.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage compliance requirements across multiple facilities and states.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and compliance tracking systems.
  • Associate's or bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Management, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to meet company driving requirements.

Travel and Physical Requirements

  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 75% of the time, including overnight and out-of-state travel.
  • Ability to conduct site inspections at fuel stations, travel centers, and operational facilities.
  • Ability to work outdoors and around fueling equipment while following required safety procedures.
  • Flexibility to respond to urgent environmental compliance issues when necessary.
